| Senior Circuit Breaker Grants | This is the common name for Public Act 91-699 Senior |
| Citizens and Disabled Persons Property Tax Relief and |
| Pharmaceutical Assistance Act. Recent changes take |
| effect January 1, 2001 include higher income qualifying |
| limits so more seniors or disabled can take advantage of |
| the benefits provided. Other changes include expanded |
| number of diseases covered under the prescription drug |
| program. Also reductions in the cost of the prescription |
| card and charge per prescription. This program also |
| provides low-income senior citizens with yearly grants to |
| help pay property taxes. Maximum household qualifying |
| income levels beginning for the 2000 grant year are |
| $21,218 for a one-person household, $28480 for a |
| two-person household, and $35,740 for households |
| containing three or more persons. In the calendar year |

| Disabled Veterans Exemption | This program provides up to a $50,000 exemption of the |
| equalized assessed value to a qualifying veteran or the |
| veteran's their unmarried surviving spouse. a. Must have |
| a disability of such nature that the Federal Govt. has |
| authorized payment for the purchase or construction of |
| housing with special adaptations to meet your disability.
